Minimum Education Requirements: Master’s degree in a related field: Finance, Business administration, Accounting or Economics

Direct Supervisor: Assistant Superintendent for Talent Recruitment, Equity, & District-Wide Operations
Primary Work Location: Central Office.
Certification: CFA, CPA, FRM, CFP, CIMA, ACCA, CAIA, ChFC, CMA, or CMFC certification preferred.
Job Summary: The Director of Business Services (CFO) & Support will ensure the district has a properly constructed and implemented budget, oversees the daily operation of payroll and accounts payable, and maintaining an appropriate fund balance for the district’s reserve.
Essential Job Duties:
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties:
- Oversee the financial strategic planning of the district by evaluating its performance and potential risks.
- Articulate and model the mission and vision of the district in all school business and finance communications.
- Establish finance targets
- Attend Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Commission meetings when there are items being discussed related to the Center School District.
- Assist in bond election preparation and long-term goals of the district.
- Ensure proper payroll functions are in place and staff are compensated at appropriate times.
- Conduct an audit each fiscal year and report those findings to the School Board.
- Make recommendations for improvement of operations in the business department.
- Supervise food nutrition program.
- Seek input, construct a budget, and finalize budget decisions.
- Prepare a budget that is approved by the School Board each year.
- Ensure proper dispensing of funds for capital projects.
- Attend scheduled Work Sessions and Board of Education, and other related meetings as determined by the Direct Supervisor, and/or Board of Education and Superintendent request.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
